Technically the AAC's footprint goes from the East Coast to OK/TX

when you consider where all the members are located. So even though the TV contract suggests the AAC is a "regional" conference, I don't think "regional conference" is fits because its members are located within multiple regions. Plus, the AAC may look to expand into the Mountain Time Zone and possibly the West Coast. At least there was talk about mainly G5 schools forming the "Airplane Conference" in the late '90s or '00. The AAC may end up fulfilling that dream in hopes of gaining power conference status.
